DSM TOOLGeoTIFF in · volumes out
Every pile on the site, measured from your drone scan.
PileReport is a free stockpile volume calculator that reads your drone DSM locally, fits a base surface under each pile, and returns per-pile volumes and tonnage you can export. Nothing uploads — the engine is compiled to WebAssembly and runs in this tab.
SHEET 01 — THE TOOLOutline piles · compute all · export CSV
Per pile: tap vertices around the pile, then "Finish pile" (double-tap also finishes). When every pile is outlined, "Compute all".
Volumetric estimate from user-supplied DSM. Not a certified survey. Not for trade measurement. Tonnage uses typical loose bulk densities — always verify with site measurements.
SHEET 02 — METHODWhere the number comes from
How the datum is fitted
A pile volume is surface height minus base height, cell by cell. The base — the datum — is the choice that moves the number, so it is explicit in every result and every export.
Detrended IDW base surface
Fits a least-squares plane to the ground around your outline, then interpolates the residual surface under the pile. Follows sloped and undulating yards; the same family of methods used by photogrammetry packages.
Plane · 5th percentile
A flat base at the 5th-percentile elevation inside the outline. Ignores stray low pixels (vehicles, shadows, birds) that would drag a minimum-based base down.
Manual elevation
You type the base elevation — useful when the pile sits on a known design level, or you are reconciling against a previous report.
SHEET 03 — SIMPLE MODENo drone? Tape measurements
Material calculators
No scan yet? Estimate a pile from tape measurements — height and base circumference, or pad dimensions — with typical loose bulk densities pre-filled.
